We provide a supportive, welcoming environment in which we encourage our clients to feel at ease. Each of our session rooms is thoughtfully designed to foster an atmosphere of comfort and Connection.

Our practice is 2SLGBTQ+ positive and inclusive. We strive to provide cross-cultural psychological services, with an aim to ensure that clients from different cultural backgrounds feel seen, heard, and respected in the therapeutic space.

Dr. Sarah Lyons

Clinical and Health Psychologist

  • Dr. Sarah Lyons is an integrative psychologist with training in cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, Schema therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapies, as well as a background in mindfulness-based stress reduction and mindfulness meditation. In her work with couples, Sarah integrates the principles of John Gottman’s research and Esther Perel’s work into her therapeutic approach. Sarah has  20 years of experience providing assessment and psychotherapy to adults, couples and dyads, and has also co-facilitated groups focused on individuals recovering from addiction and depression.

    Sarah completed graduate training at Michael Garron Hospital and North York General Hospital, in both outpatient psychology and inpatient psychiatric settings. Additionally, she worked for three years at St. Michael’s Hospital providing cognitive behavioural therapy to individuals living with with HIV. Sarah's professional expertise also includes extensive experience with psychological assessments, as well as psycho-vocational assessments.

    Sarah has special interest in anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use and addiction, couples therapy, maternal mental health, career counselling, trauma and stress related to chronic or life-threatening illnesses, and relationship counselling.

Dr. Meaghan Ferguson

Clinical and Health Psychologist

  • Dr. Meaghan Ferguson holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from York University and is in her supervised practice year with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She also holds a diploma in Health Psychology.

    After completing her pre-doctoral residency through University Health Network, Meaghan received clinical training at Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (Rumsey Centre and Lyndhurst Centre).

    Meaghan has worked with individuals, couples and groups, and has expertise in psychological and neuropsychological assessment. Her approach to therapy is empathic and collaborative, and follows an integrative model of evidence-based therapies, to provide the approach best-suited to an individual’s needs.

    Meaghan's work with her clients has addressed a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, adjustment and coping difficulties, trauma, and stress and challenges related to health concerns.

Anika Petrella, PhD

Registered Psychotherapist

  • Anika Petrella is a Registered Psychotherapist (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario). She completed her PhD at the University of Toronto. Anika works with adolescents, adults and couples who are experiencing a range of mental health concerns (anxiety, depression, adjustment, interpersonal concerns, managing health stressors). She has a particular interest in men’s mental health and coping with challenges that arise in young adulthood. Anika focuses on providing survivorship counselling to patients, partners, and families who’ve been effected by cancer, which includes managing diagnosis, treatment decision making, transitioning through survivorship, quality-of-life, and grief and bereavement.

    As a researcher, Anika investigates the mechanisms of adolescents and young adults mental health, as well as supportive care interventions to support their overall wellbeing following acute and chronic health challenges (e.g., cancer). Anika has worked across hospital, university and private practice settings, as well as consulted with brands like LEGO and Vogue. 

    Anika’s warm approach is evidence based, drawing from cognitive behavioural therapy, schema therapy, emotion focused therapy, and family-oriented practices. Anika works collaboratively with her clients, to improve their overall health and wellbeing. Through a client-centred approach, Anika is committed to helping her clients thrive. 

Emily Mastragostino, MA, PhD (Candidate)

Clinical Associate

  • Emily Mastragostino is a thoughtful and warm clinician who prioritizes acceptance and collaboration. She believes that developing a genuine therapeutic relationship that encourages curiosity, exploration, and empowerment is fundamental to the therapeutic process.

    Emily works with clients to set meaningful goals, enhance self-understanding, and develop skills that support desired change. To support her clients, Emily draws from knowledge and training in evidence-based practices to tailor her interventions to her client's unique needs and goals. Emily is well-versed in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and mindfulness. She integrates a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive framework across modalities. Emily has worked with young adults and adults to address a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, self-criticism, perfectionism, interpersonal challenges, work-related issues, and phobias.

    Emily welcomes the opportunity to work with folks of diverse backgrounds, identities, and abilities.

Ashley Lam, MA

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

  • Ashley Lam is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying, College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario). She completed her Master’s Degree at OISE, University of Toronto and her clinical training at the OISE Counselling Centre. Ashley’s therapeutic approach is client-focused, compassionate, and collaborative, drawing on evidence-based approaches, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) as well as emotion-focused and attachment-based approaches.

    Ashley believes in the healing and transformative power of authentic human connections. She strives to create a non-judgmental, affirming, and collaborative space where clients can explore their strengths and work toward personal growth. She practices from an anti-oppressive and LGBTQ2A+ affirming framework and has experience supporting neurodivergent individuals. Ashley is particularly passionate about working with diverse clients, including those navigating issues related to identity, relationships, intimacy, and sexuality.

Clinic Manager

  • Su-Min Teh is the clinic manager at Dr. Sarah Lyons & Associates, where she ensures the seamless operation of the practice while supporting both clients and clinicians. With over a decade of experience spanning customer service, finance, learning and development, and corporate event planning, she brings a versatile skill set to her role.

    Passionate about creating a welcoming and organized environment, Su-Min is dedicated to supporting the clinic’s dynamic team and ensuring every client receives seamless support from their very first interaction.
