Answers to some common questions

General questions about our services

  • A typical session with one of our clinicians is 50 minutes in length.

  • Our session fees range from $250-340. The cost per hour depends on the clinician and type of session (individual versus couples/partners).

  • We require 2 business days notice for any appointment changes and cancellations. The full session fee will be charged with less than 2 business days notice.

  • You do not need a referral to begin meeting with a therapist. We are pleased to consult with family physicians and psychiatrists, or other practitioners where appropriate.

  • We offer in-person and virtual care. We see clients in person at our Yorkville clinic, in Toronto, Ontario. We also see clients virtually anywhere in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

  • Most third-party insurance providers cover psychotherapy with a Registered Psychologist and Registered Psychotherapist. Clinical Associates are covered by most insurance providers, when supervised by a Registered Psychologist.

  • Sessions are kept completely confidential between client and therapist. Limits of confidentiality apply to all healthcare practitioners. These limits are discussed at length with each of our clients during the intake process.

How can therapy help? How does it work?

  • Therapy can help with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, work-life balance, imposter syndrome, relationship challenges, decision-making, self-doubt, and more.

  • We’ll explore ways to set boundaries, cultivate mindfulness, reframe unhelpful thought patterns, and build habits that protect your mental and physical well-being.

  • Therapy begins with an initial consultation to explore your goals and concerns. Sessions are collaborative and customized, blending proven, evidence-based therapeutic methods with tools to support clarity, growth, and actionable change.

  • If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or perhaps seek to optimize your well-being and performance, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit.

  • Length of therapy depends on your goals. Some people prefer short-term, focused work on specific challenges. Others engage in longer-term therapy for deeper reflection and growth.

  • We use an integrative approach, combining evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-focused therapy (EFT), Schema therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), psychodynamic psychotherapies, and Mindfulness. Sessions are tailored to each client's particular needs/goals.
